Supporting Wilkins Elementary School in Jackson, MS: A Call to Action for Community Leaders
I’m thrilled to share a wonderful experience at Wilkins Elementary School here in Jackson, Mississippi. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting this vibrant community and felt an incredible warmth and enthusiasm from both the students and the staff. The energy at Wilkins is contagious, and I'm honored to be invited back as a judge for their upcoming talent show. About Wilkins Elementary School Located at 1970 Castle Hill Drive in Jackson, Wilkins Elementary is one of 30 elementary schools in the Jackson Public School District, serving K-5 students. This school is special, not only because of its impressive Gifted Education, Performing Arts, SuperBoyz, and Exceptional Education programs but also because of the dedicated team behind it. From teachers with advanced degrees to committed instructional partners, intervention teams, and volunteers, Wilkins Elementary is fueled by people who believe in reaching every student and fostering a culture of learning and creativity.
Adopt-a-School Program: Let’s Invest in Our Future! During my time with the Wilkins community, it became clear how impactful community involvement can be. I’m calling on community leaders, business owners, parents, and anyone passionate about education to consider adopting Wilkins Elementary School as a part of a larger Adopt-a-School initiative. This program would create a structure where local businesses, organizations, and individuals could support Wilkins’ mission by donating time, resources, or funds to enhance student learning experiences.
